Now as it says in the title, this is only temporary. I will be getting an "all you need large omninest" in roughly 3 to 4 weeks from now.
It is not completely done(needs some cleaning up)
But here I go...
The container is a plastic kitchen food container thing (the ones that people usually store leftovers in)
It is about 4 in. deep and about 6 in. or so on both sides: 4 by 6 by 6
It has two test tubes inside, laying right next to eachother diagonally on the bottom.
There is a 1.5 in. Layer of vaseline on the top with a paper towel blocking the escape, it is held in place by a rubber band.
The species I am keeping inside is a solenopsis xyloni colony with 10-15 workers.
Also is it fine to keep a dead cricket in the container for just a few days as long as it isn't right inside or next to the tubes?
Any feedback?

Re: Feedback on temporary beginner setup
The dead cricket should be fine. If you leave it for too long it might start to mold. Also for the start it should be fine.
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.
