How to care for Carebara Diversa (Asian Marauder Ants)
I kinda wanna take care of C. Diversa because of their HUGE Super Majors.
Anyone whos keeped or have knowledge about this species,
please give me all the advice I need to take care of these ladies. Things like:
-Whats their diet?
-Whats their nuptial flight season?
-How fast do they grow
-Will they eat any house foods like steak, boiled eggs, steamed chicken or fish?
-What humidity preferences do they like?
-Are they compatible with plaster nests?
-Are they an easy ant species to care for?
-What are your conclusions about the care for Carebara Diversa?
It would be best if you answered all these questions and even better if you add more information.
Thank you for your answers and Happy Thanks giving to you Americans and Advance Happy Holidays to you all!

Re: How to care for Carebara Diversa (Asian Marauder Ants)
1. They'll eat just about anything.
2. It depends, but most of them fly from November to December and May to July, they'll even fly year round sometimes.
3. Extremely fast, queens can have up to 30-50 nanitics.
4. Yes
5. I'll say slightly high humidity, about 60-80%. Just make sure the nest is humid and don't let it get too dry.
6. I would say no because they can chew through plaster very easily.
7. Not really, because of their painful bites, sensitivity to light, vibrations and changes in their environment, being able to chew through most materials, fast growth and they are escape artists.
8. They are not the easiest species to keep due to many factors but as long as you know what to look out for, the are a fun and interesting species to keep. And also queens need substrate to found her colony so fill a regular test tube setup with soil for her to dig, make sure the soil is always moist.

If I remember correctly they are extremely hard to keep and only a few have managed to.TheAntOfficer wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 6:25 amI kinda wanna take care of C. Diversa because of their HUGE Super Majors.

Here is a general overview of the ants but you may need a translation of the text. Google Chrome usually works quite well with right click > translate to English.TheAntOfficer wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 6:25 amI kinda wanna take care of C. Diversa because of their HUGE Super Majors.

They sum up the key information and it should give you a good idea.
If you want to compare, you can also use this link from the same ant store with their information sheet.
https://www.antstore.net/shop/de/Ameisen/Ameisen-aus-Asien/Pheidologeton-affinis.html
From both links I can however give you a short sum up. Basically the C. diversus is bigger. They are also more aggressiv since it's mentioned specifically.
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.

Yes. C. affinis is usually smaller (queens are 1.2 to 1.5 cm long, C. diversa queens can get to 2cm or more). C. affinis is usually dark red to brown and sometimes even bright orange. C. diversa are completely black.TheAntOfficer wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 3:13 amAre there any differences between C. Diversa and C. Though for sure, both are highly aggresive and have very painful bites and both are polygynous.
