Foreign ants in queen test tube?
I found workers in my queen's test tube. However, the size was way too small to be the same species and I had last suspected the queen to be infertile as she had always eaten her eggs. Also, the queen suspiciously has no brood...
keeping:
all my queens died
got a sugar ant colony started

Re: Foreign ants in queen test tube?
They were probably from a different colony from outside. In that case apply some barrier on the outside of the enclosure to prevent them from coming. And were there no eggs with your queen? Because there might be eggs which hatched and you didn't notice. What species is your queen?
Ants I have-
camponotus compressus colony- the shadow warriors.
Pls just let me have a tetramorium colony

Do you have pictures of the queen and those ants inside the testtube? I'm curious to see for myself since this sounds very strange.
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.
