So I've had a total of around 30 solenopsis queens. Around 10-12 have died, 8 or 9 are new, and about 9 or 10 have brood. There ha always been this one queen that has done exceptionally well in her founding stage.
I was just about to go to bed and I decided to do my bi- weekly check on the queens. And to my amazement, hiding behind some eggs, 3 larvae and 2 additional pupae, sat a lonely lady. She was still translucent so she had just recently eclosed. I was so happy, I showed my whole family. Anyway, a few questions...
1. When will they hibernate? (Its getting very cold like 40-50°F)
2.When do i start feeding them?
3.Does anyone in Southern California want any free solenopsis queens(must be willing to drive at least semi close to me like 20-30 mile radius. I live in Moreno valley)PM me for details
