Hibernation time!

I think my ants just started their official hibernation because after a piece of dirt fell into their nest entrance they blocked it up, and the reason I say this is because if they were nervous they would have done this before during when I check on them.

Maybe they are just preparing. I would just observe for the time being.
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.

They made another nest entrance but then they blocked it up. If they do this again I will try to get them some food because they don't have any food.

Yes. Just place the food around the area but not too close to any entrances. They may just need to make their own decissions.

I put some food on a rock not to close to were they opened and closed their nest entrance. Hope this works!
