I only have termites that i feed my ants. They dont seem to dry out even after three months because I once accidentally squished one termite and the termite left the wet food out i would say around two months is the longest you can keep them fresh because after that it would start to rot.
Ants I have-
camponotus compressus colony- the shadow warriors.
Pls just let me have a tetramorium colony

Just keep them outside for few minutes. If the insect is big, ten minutes is good

As someone else mentioned, you can freeze them. What you also could do is to try and find a fishing store. They usually sell insects as they are also used for fishing. You could ask them for mealworms and store them in the fridge at 6°C or whatever temperatur your fridge got. I got some mealworms and so far they have managed a full year in the fridge without dying. I tried super worms and bee larvae too but those died away in the fridge.
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.

You could even try to raise one colony as feeding insects.

You can find alot of queen and king termite during monsoon. After it rains l, look near a bright light and you will most likely find them there
