I caught two Camponotus albosparsus queens last night! This species is also quite special to me since it's my first ever ant colony I've kept.

I caught at school this morning, some kid took the DANG tube(He plays with all my stuff idk why), let the queen in his backpack, where there is so much lead, and I eventually caught her. She died of toxicitySYUTEO wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 10:01 amWow, congrats! Do keep us updated on the queensSolenopsisKeeper wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 7:14 amOnly a single C. discolor male. That's so sad. Reminded me of the time when I gave a friend a Camponotus queen at school and someone knocked the test tube off and it broke. And when you said there's lead in the kid's bag is it pencil lead or is it actual metal lead (element 82 symbol Pb), I know it probably sounds funny that I asked this question but I thought pencil lead (graphite) is non-toxic.SolenopsisKeeper wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 1:52 pmI caught at school this morning, some kid took the DANG tube(He plays with all my stuff idk why), let the queen in his backpack, where there is so much lead, and I eventually caught her. I doubt the toxicity of lead killed her I bet it was whatever turned all his books pink(Mold I think)SYUTEO wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 8:54 pmThat's so sad.
