I put a piece of chicken in about half a inch long. 2 hours ago and its gone completely. But the queen just leaves larvae and ready to hatch workers in water so should I force a move?

Did you feed her before the workers hatch?NolanGiesbrecht wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 9:04 pmI put a piece of chicken in about half a inch long. 2 hours ago and its gone completely. But the queen just leaves larvae and ready to hatch workers in water so should I force a move?

The Queen already had workers, 5 of them there the original batch. 3 of them have died. one is sitting in the small test tube connector /outworld looking stressed.

I would say dump them, you don't want all the brood to drown.NolanGiesbrecht wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2023 11:08 pmThe Queen already had workers, 5 of them there the original batch. 3 of them have died. one is sitting in the small test tube connector /outworld looking stressed.
Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

I changed test tubes but half of the brood had already drowned and the queen STILL just sits in the entrance to test tube.

I like to try and make my ants used to light so that I don't stress them when I view them.antperson24 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 8:05 amDon't use light for Camponotus, it only stresses them out. Try heating the new test tube. If that does not work after about a week, you might want to consider dumping them into the new test tube.NolanGiesbrecht wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 2:00 amHello.I have a Camponotus ocreatus queen. I'm a beginner antkeeper and things are happening that I have no clue how to deal with. I got her from a antkeeper near me and she arrived with 5 nanitics.
Everything was fine for about 3 weeks then 2 died a week a part.I put them in hibernation for 3 months. I took them out like 4 days ago. 1 day later 1 was dead. Next day another one i looked distressed. It can't hardly move and was staying away from others
Its still is alive but hardly moving. Now I notice the queen is just sitting the in entrance to test tube. The one remaining worker is with her with a larvae in its mouth and they just sit there. The test tube was looking a bit wet so I put a new one in. They won't move into it. Whats going on? I'm lost.
Keeping:
• Cataulacus granulatus x2
• Camponotus parius
• Odontomachus sp x4
• Pheidole prava x1
• Pseudoneoponera sp x1

Not unless they're in a shadow.
