I doupt that ants that size will have a painful bite, T. destructor lives in and around my house, and they are rarely if ever aggressive to me. They only attack me if I take one of their many queens, and I cannot feel any of their attacks.Polyrhachiskeeper wrote: ↑Sun Oct 30, 2022 2:45 amMy Camponotus now has 12 nanitics. I also finally found out what sp. of ant are in my house. They are very anoying and they look alot like Trichomyrmex destructor. They burrow in wood, and have a painful bite, and look alot like pharaoh ants.

I started hibernating my C. novaeboracensis colony a few weeks ago with about 120 workers and 75 brood.
I hate hibernation.

Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

Maybe the pain actually comes from their sting and not the bite itself.Polyrhachiskeeper wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 4:35 amEither they are pharaoh ants or T. destructor. they are everywhere and are super anoying, once, they came pouring out of my laptop! That's what I thought, and that is what it normally is when people say that they have been bitten by a small and or ants in general even.SYUTEO wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 7:07 amMaybe the pain actually comes from their sting and not the bite itself.Polyrhachiskeeper wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 4:35 amEither they are pharaoh ants or T. destructor. they are everywhere and are super anoying, once, they came pouring out of my laptop! Re: Welcome back to the Camponotus Crew! (New topic, old one got too long)
my Camponotus (nicobarensis?) has about 10 workers now, and lots of larvae, probably 15 or so. My crematogaster, well.... almost all of their brood are gone. Their water has run out, maybe thats why? i dont think it's the food tho, they have had a constant suply and then run dry for a few days, but who knows, maybe it is the food. I also got A small Tapinoma sp. colony. Any tips for Tapinoma colony? Please reply here: https://forum.AntsCanada.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=26784
