Eggs
Hi. my caponautus ants the one from southern Ontario that has a red body and black head and thorax laid eggs last year after I found it in the spring and they hatched two months later as supposedly to but This year in may she laid them but they still (2.5 months later) still haven’t even begun to developed. They are in a pile and they move them around and they have lots of food but no development.

Re: Eggs
Maybe you need to provide them some extra heat. If possibly place part of the dry side of the testtube to a heating mat / pat so they can enjoy the heat a little. It could be exactly what they need. But please don't cover the whole testtube with heat. They need to be able to choose themselfs what's best.
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.
