Encouraging the development of alates and super majors

I'm curious if there are ways to encourage ant colonies to develop more specialized ants like super majors, males, and princesses! Anyone see any interesting correlations with nutrition or care etc that lead to an increased or decreased variety of the less common ants?

You can give them a heating cable and feed them a lot more.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
[Have a look at antmaps.org]

Thanks for the advice! It probably depends on the species, but what kind of nutrients in the food do you think they need? Protein, fat, or more sugar, or just more of everything? I guess I should find something to ***** their natural diet with.

Usually, it's protein.

I would say that if they have more than enough food, they will consider expanding more and faster since they got everything that is needed. They also don't risk starving hence why it may encourage alates and super majors of which the super majors need more food in general and the alates are possibly only considered if the colony is big enough.
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.
