Found a queen and I have questions.

I found a camponotus queen a little less than 2weeks ago. The day before I found two tetramorium queens. The Tetramorium queens have laid some eggs, but the camponotus queen hasn't. I have her in a test tube set up, its the ones AntsCanada.com sell.

How long does it take on average for them to lay eggs?

Since she's big, she seems to be moving around a lot, and pulling on the cotton, should I move her to a bigger test tube? Or just keep her in the one she's in?

Try anothe testtube. Not necessarily bigger but just another one. It can happen that they don't want to be in that one particular testtube for no reason so they want to get out. Also please send us some pictures of your queen. Would love to see her. ;)

What a beauty she is. :)
If you have, you can try a bigger testtube. Maybe she finds it a bit too cramped inside of this one.

She died in the middle of the night!!! :(

How hard are camponotus queens to keep? She's the second one that I found that died.

I think they are not all to difficult to keep. Was it very hot in your place recently? Over here it was already 35°C and I do hope it's not getting worse than this during the summer that is drawing nearer every day. Was she in a cool spot and undisturbed?
Those are the only thinks I could put into account right now. The only other would be that she didn't had much food before nuptial flight and since camponotus (as far as I found and know and hear) is fully claustral, she doesn't need any food before the first workers arrive.

It can get up to 35 here, but not in the house. It doesn't get above 30 inside. I'm thinking that I stressed her a lot when I moved her. I kept her in my closet, checked on here every other day to two days.

Yeah usually the biggest issue are disturbances. Check if possible only once per week and perhaps with a very weak light during the night to see what's going on. Otherwise leave the queen in her testtube. That is what I can always recommend to everyone even if it is a bit difficult.
