Captured Queen Setup

I’m new to ant keeping. I have been searching for queens and found one. I set it up in a tube following a youtube demonstration, however the next day I found the queen up against the cotton end with the water - dead! I’m trying to determine what I did wrong. Was it possibly too much cotton or the wrong type? Any ideas?

sometimes queens dont make it trough the founding stage that has happened to me many times but when you catch a queen try to dont disturb her (i know its very difficult) and check her once a week if possible
colonies:
camponotus atriceps

Sometime queens be like: Bleee. Me ded now. Gud bie.
It happens. Don't worry. That is the reason why many antkeepers catch multiple queens to have at least one that doesn't just die. It's not all the time of course but sometimes they just die.
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.
