should I keep her in air conditioning?

I have caught a camponotus queen( most likely camponotus compressus) and she has 5-6 larvae and some eggs. she looks to be healthy but I think she might die because of heat. it's June and temperature gets real high here. afternoons are basically an open oven with temperature of 40-45 degrees Celsius thought she have water and it's a local ant species so she is most likely adapted to this type of environment but keeping her in ac might be better. we only set ac on 22-25° Celsius and I keep her in a corner where it's not that cold. I know it might slow her growth but it's better than literally cooking her in a container. also the air conditioning only turns on for approximately half a day(14 hrs). so should I keep her in air conditioned room?

I am also curious. I have just started and have not yet caught a queen. I live in Florida and do not know of the garage, where it is well over 100F, is safe to keep a queen/colony. On the other hand, I keep my house at 73F. What is considered "warm" for ants?

Most species like a temp similar to what you find outside. Campus like 75-80 but that's all I know.

Could you (Antloverhuman) share a picture of the queen? Would be interesting to get an ID and look up the temperatur. I also guess that the queen would just try to dig deeper into the soil to avoid the heat. You can try to keep her inside of the house at 22-25°C but it could and probably will slow down the developping speed of your colony. Camponotus is a slow growing colony so it could be that it will take them much longer to grow in numbers.

photos are hazy because the container has scratch and sticker marks on the outside(inside is very clean tho)
even if the brood grows slowly at least she won't die from extreme heat. Also is there any good site where you can find alot of information on ants. I find information from YouTube, antwiki.org and Wikipedia but they also don't have alot of information on how to keep certain ant

Yes that is what I also really hate about the Antwiki. I would love to share my personal experiences and "discoveries" with everyone via the AntWiki, however it is as far as I know impossible to put information on there. They write nesting area 24-28°C but the arena / outworld can be 21-35°C. Claustral / no feeding. Development of antworkers can take about 6 weeks. They also mention they are aggressive and react to disturbances.

Sounds good. If possible put a digital or analog thermometer next to it, to see if it's not too much.
