I have been told 20-50+ minimum before even attaching a small AC test tube portal.GardenAnts wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 12:47 pmWhen i put it in this set up queen had 9 ant workers and they are big, i have big specie, and i read that when u have about 10 worker ants (if big) u can put them in set up like this.Jager89 wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 12:43 pmIf your other queens are in open set ups like that as well i would keep them in a test tube set up until they have way more workers.GardenAnts wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 12:33 pm
I have them in like 4 months and this year she started to produce a lot of eggs, and i was so happy . Im not sure if they were stressed /and if she was killed by workers, they hatched last week.

Re: ANTS KILLED ANT QUEEN
When i had asked it was a Generalized question because I had not found a species i wanted yet. I was after Honey pot ants but none are where i live so i ended up getting winter ants, Queens are about 8mm with workers between 2.5-3.5 mm so they are smaller than Camponotus Species. If that is the species you have.GardenAnts wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 12:53 pmThis ment for small ants?Jager89 wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 12:51 pmI have been told 20-50+ minimum before even attaching a small AC test tube portal.GardenAnts wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 12:47 pm

Big oof from my side. I attached the testtube to an AC Tower because I was too eager to get them to move out of the testtube. However they have created themselfs a nice and new founding chamber so they can grow in there.
I would say no. I just wouldn't want to risk it that they may battle it out. Keep them seperate and make some observations if you want. You could try to interact with them a bit more than with the still healthy colony. When my first Messor barbarus queen died, there were still some workers left so I kept them just to get an idea on how old workers can get. They are still alive. Although I should have marked their birthdates when I started to have a more precise date.GardenAnts wrote: ↑Sun May 09, 2021 7:59 amJager just one question, lets say ants didnt kill queen, soo would u merge rest of the colony(10) with new queen. Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.

Maybe i can try to give 1 worker every day/ 2 days to new queen? Soo that worker will accept new queen.AntsLuxembourg wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 7:11 amBig oof from my side. Re: ANTS KILLED ANT QUEEN
That is not how ants work. Just keep them seperated from each other. Althought it seems impossible to convince you that it's not a good idea to do so, so feel free to try it and learn from your possible mistakes.GardenAnts wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 6:01 amMaybe i can try to give 1 worker every day/ 2 days to new queen?
