I bought a hybrid nest some time ago. But the test tubes I'm using for my ants is not bought on the same website the theist tube opening size and the connection to the hybrid nest is a different size. So how do i connect them together? Can i use tape? Also, i don't have any clay or anything. :(

You can use tubing or cotton just make sure you do not tap it out by accident.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
[Have a look at antmaps.org]

so what you can do is, you try to find tubing that is big enough to fit over your current tubing and also is possibly slightly to big to fit on the hybrid nest. Then you can take something like a cutter or a sharp knife, be very careful with it, and try to cut of small bits on the outside of the tube that has to fit into the hybrid nest. Then you keep removing only small spots here and there until it fits nicely. If you feel that it is fitting nicely without sliding out too easily, then you can plug it and use that piece of tubing as a connector for your hybrid nest. Done this a couple of times when I had a whole that was just slightly to small to fit the unchanged tubes. If you don't feel that it is good or well done, then just don't do it.
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.
