Is this abnormal behaviour?
So my Prenolepis imparis Queen has 8 eggs so far but she has 5 on 1 side of the wall and 3 on the other is this normal? It's my first time keeping ants and im not sure if that is normal or odd behaviour?
Re: Is this abnormal behaviour?
They do not put there eggs anywhere particular for example my crematogaster queen has her eggs all over the place, so yes, this is normal behavior.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
[Have a look at antmaps.org]

The queen is just saving her energy as much as possible. And if she got workers to take care of the ants, I'd say that this will not happen to much afterwards. Just keep observing and unless the queen starts to do a death curl I'd say she is fine.
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.

Neither really leave the Water cotton ball unless i turn on the LED light on the jewelers loupe. Aside from that they both chill on or directly near it.AntsLuxembourg wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 6:52 amThe queen is just saving her energy as much as possible.
