Still no brood.. is that normal for the species? I’ve read they develop slowly..

Re: Ant Not Eating or producing young
Just realized that due to my dark mode addon I didn't see that they work pictures only viewable with rightclick show image / graphic.
Anyway I see that the testtube seems to be blurred with water droplets and condensed water. I don't know exactly but it seems that it is too moist for them. If they are carpenter ants, which they seem to be, then it is probably too moist for them.
Try putting them in a new testtube that try to make the cotton on the open end, which seals off the testtube, not as tightly packed to provide a bit more airing. Maybe that is why. Carpenter ants usually have very dry nest and the dryer the better for them. Of course the brut chamber usually is a bit humit since they need the moisture but the queen may feel uncompfortable so she's not laying any eggs.
Give it a try for a week and check if the water keeps condensing against the dry part of the testtube.

Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.

Thank you. I actually figured that may be a problem and have connected two together hoping they’d move into the other which they haven’t... I’m afraid of disturbing them to often for feedings or to check on them.

Getting used to you? I guess they see you as a gigantic behemoth making their world rumble. ^^
Anyway, I would say give them a week if peace. No check ups, remove all the food inside so it doesn't smell up their setup. If they haven't moved by then, then you should try to shake them into the new and clean testtube and remove the old one. If there are still some eggs in the old testtube, you can try to move them with some cotton on a pair of tweezers and try to scoop them up or try the testtube a bit before shaking the test out.
