Red fire ant egg?
I caught this fire ant queen about a week ago, and I checked on it today, and it has a red egg. Is this normal?https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Vko5_xjaAEMwcA1AIqO_Pfew8UxSJynW/view?usp=drivesdk

It’s normal it’s just a little different.
It will turn into any worker like normal.

Why did I even make a signature if I am just gonna say this.

Thanks, so far it’s only had that one. Do they normally lay only one egg at a time?

Re: Red fire ant egg?
Some can but most will lay multiple eggs.
Don’t worry they will still grow even after that egg hatches.

Thanks for the info. It’s my first solenopsis, and I’ve been waiting all winter for them.
Re: Red fire ant egg?
Good luck! This is my 3rd solenopsis but I almost had luck with number 2. You should make a journal about her.

I might if the eggs hatch alright.

I’m pretty sure is an invicta, because that’s all I’ve seen in Alabama
