So I have had a supposedly pavement ant queen for a while now. For the first 2 or 3 weeks she didn't really do anything in the test tube set up a I had given her. It was getting really hard not to check up on her, and I thought maybe the test tube set up wasn't working for her. So, I gave her a box of dirt and she has dug into it. I don't check up on her too much now, but the problem is that... I can't tell if she is actually alive XD.
Should I just leave her (it has been 1 - 2 weeks-ish now) ?
Or should I poke around the dirt a bit? I don't want to disturb her, but I want to know if she is alive so that I don't have a secretly empty dirt box for the rest of winter.
If you have any idea how to help me, please do! If you don't, don't worry... I know I don't have any ideas :\
Thanks
Is she alive still?

Re: Is she alive still?
She might just be resting to hold her energy, because queens stay still a lot since they don't have any workers to care for the brude and her.
So just let her be and soon u should see a few nanitics wandering about.
Don't worry, she'll be fine
