Argentine ants

I have a ton of Argentine ants in my backyard and thought why not raise some. However, since they don’t have a nuptial flight schedule I don’t know if I should use the test tube system or something else.

What do you mean about the nuptial flight schedule? They do have flights, dont they?

Argentine ants are some of the coolest ants in the world. The only sad thing is that their coolness is what makes them one of the most invasive species of ant that is slowly taking over much of the western united states and also Australia. If you want to know more you can check out AntAustralia's video on it. Basically their species is a giant super colony because they don't fight with each other. They also are super polygenous and because of this they usually don't expand by flights since they expand just like a normal colony could by digging new nests and populating them.

If you want to keep them then just take some queens from their colonies.

Pretty sure if you prepare a flowerpot in a shady place, with nice moist planting soil, with some food nearby, they will move in on their own accord!
