Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing great!
I'm finally back after a couple of months.
Yesterday, as I was eating lunch close to my university parking lot (in Turin, Italy), I spotted a winged queen on my backpack. She was about 6-7 mm long, with a orangy striped black round gaster. I have a picture of her, might post it later, when I'll have the time. Anyway, after noticing her I started spotting many more on the ground but wingless. So, obviously, I started collecting some and managed to get 12 of them in total.
If my ID is correct they should be Solenopsis Fugax. I read online (even on this forum) this species is polygynous, so I grouped them all in the same test tube and they're currently all peaceful towards eachother. Should I try to start a 12 queen colony? The idea sounds exciting but I don't want to mess up. That's why I'm asking for tips and possibly someone's experience with this species, because I've read it has a high growth rate.
I'll be posting other photos too just to make sure on the ID.
Later!

Here's the one on the backpack
And these are some of those I caught and put in the test tube together (as I said there are 12 in there).
