MITES!!

So I have some sort of mites they are little white dots crawling all around my set up you can see them in the picture on the glass if you zoom in they are very tiny, idk if they are harmful or not I’ve been watching closely and I haven’t seen any attached to any of the ants yet, But I’ve noticed ants carrying a lot of dead around lately and it makes me worry because I don’t feel that many should be dying off and idk if the mites are causing it or not. I’ve probably lost about 10 to 12 workers this week. Not sure if they may just be some of the older and original ants in the colony dying off since the colony is only a couple months old or if i have another issue at hand. I have three AC ant towers connected one large and two small, I’ve noticed the mites seem to be thriving and exploding in numbers in the two towers I keep pretty moist and hardly any in one of the smaller towers I keep more dry. So the mites definitely like the moist areas but so does my pheidole colony. I’m sure someone has had to have had this same issue and I need some help or ideas on to reduce the numbers of these things. I think they are soil mites or mold mites and I know they are almost impossible to completely get rid of because somehow they always show up but I feel they are taking over.

If it is Camponotus, ants will die in batches. I would worry if you start to see a MAJOR decrease in population, then you could try placing lemons in the outworld.
