My Solenopsis invicta queen of a colony of about 50-75 worker has been out of her nest and in the outworld for a couple days now and i don't know what to do the workers have tried to get her back in. I wanted to see how it went but at this point it is a danger to her how do i get her back in

Why would she be in danger?

her workers might panic with her out of the nest and force her back in worst case they force her in side ways and she gets hurt or worse dies

Well since she is their queen and a lot stronger, I think the chances of that happening are slim to none. They will be very careful with her.

I suspect there's another factor like humidity or temperature at play here.

it happens a lot with messor sp i assume it can happen with others

Okay here's a couple of things you can do which aren't invasive:

1. Darken the nest
2. Shine a bright light on the outworld non stop
3. Check the temperature of the nest, maybe it's colder in there and the ants like it a bit warmer
4. If your formicarium has multiple exits, connect something like a Tupperware box as a temporary outworld and only offer food in there for the time being. That should make the original outworld less interesting
5. Either dry out the outworld or alternatively flood it. Both will affect the humidity in adverse ways (temporarily)

sadly she died after the workers brought her back into the nest i was at work so i don't know what happened but i noticed she was missing 3 legs which was bad. i had been trying to change the conditions of the nest before this and just couldn't figure it fast enough.
