Woops... Slave Maker Ants invaded.
I was searching around my yard for a lasius niger colony that is fairly mature... I disturbed the soil in the general area but didn't find more than a few ants and enclosed pupae. I was planning to place a board on top so I could easily capture brood. I came back a few hours later to find several ants under attack and a swarm of red slave makers stationed above the disturbed soil and a trail that was very long littered with brood being stolen

Locking it since it's rather old. Would have loved to read more tho.
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.
