Heating Cable/test tube/ AC Test tube rack set up

Hi everyone. I have the AC test tube rack. I'm wondering if the test tubes should have the 'waterside' of the test tube on the cable side or opposite with the ant closer to cable? One would heat the water and one would heat the air basically. Any thoughts help.

Sincerely,

Hi I came across your post because I’m having trouble regulating temperature with the heat cable.
So it’s probably too late of a response now but just in case someone else is wondering.
I read that you want the cable at the opening of the tube (furthest away from the water) because if you put it on the water side it creates condensation in the tube and could drown your ants or at least cause stress and of course change the humidity level.
