my queen ant is not laying eggs
my queen ant is not laying eggs. I am keeping it in a test tube setup which is in a small box on a shelf to keep it dark. it has been there for maybe a bit more or less than a month. I am not sure what type of species of ant it is my guess is winter ant or yellow crazy ant. I usually check on it once a day.
any advice?

I don't think you should check her as much as you might be stressing her out. Try your best to give her some alone time. Only check on her once a week. Good luck!

I have heard that they won't lay till you stop checking for like 2 weeks.

Okay a bit off topic here but I find it nice seeing younger people try housing and raising colonies of their own, very nice.
Such small creatures they are... yet so organised!

Well keep us posted! Oh and check out our Camponotus Crew thread, which is probably the most active thread on the entire forum at this point. It's not just about Camponotus, though most keepers on there have a colony of at least one Carpenter species.
