I have a Lasius Niger queen in a test tube setting with about 6 workers. My second queen as the first one died over winter .
Anyway the water in her first test tube has run out a while ago. I set her up so she has a tube to a magnifying dish (that i can remove the lid and feed into) and then another tube to a fresh test tube with water.
It's been several weeks and she hasnt moved. I've also noticed she's collected a ball of cotton wall and was playing with that this morning. Why would she?
Last night i opened the cupboard door to let light in and covered over the new test tube and feeding area. Hoping she will move.
Is that the right move?
