Ant Care While your on holidays
In about 3 days i will be leaving on holidays. Does anyone know of how to maintain an ant colony while not there?
Re: Ant Care While your on holidays
If your ants are in hibernation you are fine. If they are not and you do not have someone to look after them.
Make sure you have given the outworld a good clean and then just make sure they have a fresh water supply and plenty of fresh food to sustain the the colony while you are away.
If the colony is still in just a test tube set up then it really depends on the amount of workers?
If there are no workers and pupae, just larvae and eggs then you are good to go. Could even come home to your first workers at which point be ready to feed.

Research is important before during and even after you have established a colony. There is always time to learn and to listen to others experiences. Live by this and your ants will thrive. Fail to do so and your experience may be brief.
