I'm about to hibernate my Camponotus Barbaricus at the end of this month until late Feb.
Will I have to keep them at 5-10 °C just like my Lasius sp. colonies? Should I hibernate them sooner?

Re: Hibernation temperature for Camponotus sp.
Hello there,
I checked very quickly on this webside https://www.antstore.net/shop/de/Ameisen/Ameisen-aus-Suedeuropa/Camponotus-barbaricus.html which says that they usually hibernate from end of october until the end of march at about 15°C. What is their current temperatur? You can put them in a corner inside your cave if that is held at arround those 15°C. Since they are endogen you have to hibernate them.
If you need more informations just let me know.

Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.

Re: Hibernation temperature for Camponotus sp.
Sorry if I took some time to reply but I've been quite busy.
I'm currently keeping them at around 19°C in my room and I just checked yesterday and it seems the brood has stopped developing. So I'm planning to put them in my garage as soon as possible (the garage has brick walls so the temperature doesn't drop at all during winter but it's still unheated, so it should be ok).
Thanks a lot for the informations by the way!
I had also checked on another site and it said about the same things but I was unsure (it said end of November to end of February at 15°C).
