Materials for polyrachis dives??

just got a colony and wasn't wondering what materials they would use for making a nest?

they have a tree in there to build in but few leaves. they've been using bits of soil but just wanted to know if they prefer anything to build with

Theyve just moved into a tunnel they've built UNDER the bonsai... not in it. I was told these ants wouldn't tunnel but guess that ain't true. waiting for a heat mat to add to the side of the formicarium to encourage them to build in the branches near the side of the tank.

absolutely amazing species of ants. much more interesting than my myrmica rubra colony for sure.
