As some of you may have seen in other posts, I recently lost all 15 of my workers in my Nylanderia colony. I rescued the queen and she seems to be doing okay. She has laid some eggs since moving into the test tube again so I’m excited about that. I moved some of the brood I could get into the test tube with her and she is currently taking care of them.
My question is as follows, will the queen care for the larva and eggs even if they are dead? I don’t know what killed off all my workers so I am unsure if the brood was harmed or not.

Re: Brood Question
She will eventually discard them by placing them at or near the cotton plug. Plus you can see with your own eyes if they are dead. They will shrivel up and possibly change colours.
