Hi Guys. I would like to do natural habitat formicarium for my Tetramorium caespitum. I have got not to much space in my flat, so I can get only shelf near my bed about dimension 40x40 cm of fundametals. Height will be 50 cm. I would like to use clay, sand and peat as a substratum, plant some plants and place rocks and roots. My question: is this formicarium 40x40x50 will be big enought for Tetramorium for life? I don't want to attach anything (arena, other nests).
Thx for admission me to your community and thank you in advance.

Re: Natural Formicarium 4 Tetramorium
It completely depends on the amount of substrate you place on your set up!
For example if you place just 1inch of substrate its defenetly not going to cut it but if you give your ants about at least 15cm of deapth they should be set for life in terms of living space...

I'm going to use substrate at least 15 cm, here and there 20-25 cm. Thanks for answer.
