Re: HELP: Messor barbarus
I never heard that Messor Barbarus love eggs and chicken and such. They might take some crickets but mostly eat seeds. I would remove everything except for the honey and the seeds. Perhaps a slice of apple. I kept a colony myself but the queen died. Perhaps due to the cherry seeds or the stress due to vibrations. No idea tho. But the ants are either really drunk, sick because of some of the stuff you gave them, they got mites or some of the ants have been infected by some sort of zombie fungus.
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.

What kills mold. So move them obviously. I believe lemon is a natural cleaner and it’s a known remedy for mites. Wouldn’t hurt to throw some in there. Make sure the new nest isn’t too moist to allow mold to continue growing if that’s the issue.

Unless you live in a tropical area zombie and fungus will not be present and even if you live in the tropics it would be an extremely rare rare occasion to find the fungus in a ant setup.
