so i caught my first queen last week, she is about 7mm red and black with two prominent nodules on the petioles. the id assistance i got from here suggests solenopsis or pheidole (spelling).
today i checked on her ans she has torn the cotton into a thin webbing on the floor. and on that there are these tiny tiny dots, i swear they must be eggs, but they are mite sized, are they supposed to be mite sized? (about small sprintail maybe) i expected ant poop size, or pinhead. but these are tiny.
the pictures i find online also look bigger.
maybd these arent eggs... well i check again next thursday.
Aslo: are both these genera fully claustral?

Re: how tiny are eggs
Yeah eggs are very tiny.
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
