What time of day is best for finding queen harvester ants? Not the year because I've seen alates coming out of the colony.
Harvester ants that is.

Re: Harvester Ants
Here in Utah, the nuptial flights have usually occurred around noon. I have had the best luck spotting them mated and without wings a few hours after that, so like 3pm - 7pm.CaptainAnt2005 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 24, 2018 1:58 pmWhat time of day is best for finding queen harvester ants? Re: Harvester Ants
Southeastern New Mexico, I have spotted lots of them mornings after its warmed just a bit, and afternoons after its cooled a bit. As of yet I haven't noticed a particular time they fly here but I'll pay more attention this year.
Learn to dance in the rain, because after there are queens to find!
