I nearly got a hybrid nest as a start for my first queen, but got an omnibus nest vertical large instead as it has an out world and should last awhile before I need additional nest space.

Hope to see some photos and hear updates. I may still get a hybrid nest if I have more colonies.

I am currently keeping three different Formica species in Hybrid nests. They have been in them for about four months now and are doing fine. Each of the three colonies had roughly 25 workers when I transferred them to Hybrid nests and now they have roughly 50, 75, and 100 workers. All three colonies are dormant right now and have been for about a month. I also added a Hybrid nest as an expansion to an existing homemade setup for some Pogonomyrmex ants. They are beginning to inhabit it now.
