I own a Formica hybrid nest 2.0 and I was wondering how to use a heating cable in my nest and what kind of heating cable I should buy, none of the cables I can find have the width of the cable mentioned and I was wondering if all of them fit in the nest or specific ones. Thanks!

Zoo Med 15 watt heating cable

Make sure you get the 15 watt. Higher wattage may fry your ants.

upon closer inspection this has a us plug and I live in the UK. Do you happen to know any cables in the UK that work? If not that's okay I can just buy some converters.

I Would say that if the product has specs on it (size of heating rope and such) then do a search for vendors that might have the same product in your voltage rating and plug type. If not then yea a converter might be the next best bet.

I don't want to be a nuisance but my last question is will an on/off thermostat work for a heat cable because I don't know if I can afford a pulse or dim thermostat.

I don't use thermostats of any sort, so I'm not sure. I just leave the heat cable on continuously and allow the ants to locate themselves where they are most comfortable in the heat gradient created by the heat cable.

But how do you know what temperature the cable is?
