What should I feed Myrmica Rubra?

I've only had one other colony - Lasius Niger and they didn't seem to eat anything, I tried mealworm and jelly. I also had honey, but they just got stuck in it - I'm assuming there weren't enough of them to eat it all (therefore leading to the death of workers)

I'm going to try Myrmica Rubra instead so any thoughts?

Put honey and water in a test tube setup. The ants can drink from it without getting stuck. You can also feed them crickets and cockroaches.
