Neglectful Mommy?

Yesterday, we were able to catch Queen #2's first nanitic coming out of its pupa. However, it's been about 20hrs now and the poor thing is still stuck inside. Queen #2 completely ignores it and just stands over her brood of eggs. Is this normal? Or is she being neglectful? We were just wondering.

She should be fine, but don't get your hopes up, she could simply just pass.
They can be pretty brutal. :(

Thanks. She finally made it out but she doesn't seem healthy, lots of leg-twitching and awkward movements. It's sad, but we're prepared to lose her. Hopefully, her siblings will come out soon and encourage her. 😊

That's unfortunate, but the colony should be all good!
