Crematogaster colony will not move out of wood!
I found a Crematogaster colony with alates and brood. They live in a small log and I placed them in an open ant farm because the log is to long to fit inside with the lid on. I have to keep them outside for the time being and there is a larger invasive colony were they are that sometimes gets a little close my colony. My question is how do I get this colony to move into the ant farm before the other colony raids them. I have already tried cutting the wood and placing food in the ant farm.

You could heat the ant farm.Theantkid wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2023 11:56 amI found a Crematogaster colony with alates and brood. Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.
