Camponotus Nicobarensis and silicone hose

Dear all

I could not find anything concrete wherever I searched for, but I want just to be sure before I start, so here my question to the PROs :D
In a nutshell - apart from the instability, beginning by a certain length - is there something speaking against silicone hoses?
Have now always seen everywhere only hoses made of hard plastic in use.

At short distance I/it would be so something more flexible in usage and I'd have more options and also less tension on the respective sides/ends.

As for the material, I do not believe it would harm the ants. We use the clear vinyl tubing for visibility. Camponotus are notorious for chewing through soft material, so if you use silicone, really monitor the ants for any action of chewing the hose.
