If that’s so, what seed should I feed it?

I don’t want to waste money on shipping Messor barbarus seeds from the ant shop I usually buy from because it’s in Canberra and I’m in South Australia, and shipping is expensive.

Are there any seeds that may work that are found commonly in shops?

It kinda looks like Pheidole Pallidula, so it probably is.

Messor barbarus doesn't live in Australia, it's most likely Carebara or Pheidole.

Could you send photos?
Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

I highly doubt that is Barbarus if you caught her

You are going to need clear photos for an ID
