Foam Board Insulation

I was wondering could you use foam board insulation instead of Tyoung or AAC bricks?. I was going to carve layers out then use Mod Podge to seal it. But I'm very new and I know nothing about ants as of yet. And the ants I was thinking about either Crematogaster "acrobat ants" or Tetramorium "pavement ants". If you don't recommend those ants then I would appreciate some advice on ants that live in Ohio or around that area.

The ants would be able to tunnel true the foam stuff. Does are all great species but i would also recommend camponotus.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
[Have a look at antmaps.org]
