I posted this already I thought attached to my last post: somehow it's a miracle. I swear I'm not making this up: I was so convinced my first worker was dead that I poked it with a toothpick just to make sure. Zero movement. Nothing. I woke up about 8 hours later and she was running around again. No, I'm not mistaken. I have 20/20 vision (better actually) and was looking through a jeweler's loupe. No way did I make some kind of mistake. It just isn't possible. I even thought maybe I was dreaming she was dead but no....I had to cut an extra inch off of the tube so the toothpick would reach. I had 2 setups the exact same length and yes, one is now 1" shorter than the other. Ever heard anything like this? (Also I keep them covered with a towel to keep light out, only uncover them maybe for 2 minutes every 3rd day or so to add water and I live in Florida and absolutely HATE cold so it's constantly at least 75°F in my place...or warmer. Is that good? A good temperature?)

Now when you say try cooked egg whites. would hard boil be good?
Yes hard boil an egg, and the give a bit of the white to the Ant. Not the yolk, as that will pretty much disintegrate and spread throughout the tube.
