The tiny head, relative to the body, is usually a giveaway. ;)

Queens of some species will have small abdomens, such as the social parasites and semi-claustral foragers.

Awesome! Thanks so much for the info! Since I just found this male today I figured there would be queens out so I went for another walk and caught two more ants. I think these are queens simply because I caught them wingless and they are fat :P

Bingo! Two Tetramorium queens at the late end of this genus' mating season. :D

Also looks a bit like a pheidol, would a closer pic be possible? :D
With all the things ants can do, you wonder, who rules the planet :?

Camponotus Pennsylvanicus
Pheidole sp.

For sure! I will be sure to post some better pictures soon! Both the queens are relaxing in their test tube setups in a dark sealed off room, I might wait a few days for the queens to get comfortable so I can get better pictures.

No. It is definitely not pheidole. I have caught a lot of these queens before and I am 100 percent sure its tetramorium
Proverbs 6:6-8

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
