where when and how do I catch queen ants
I've looked countless times for queen ants but I never seem to find any. please I really want to get in to ant keeping but I cant find any queens. I would love some tips for catching queens. Or some nuptial fight times for ants in my area (Austin Texas).

In Texas, you should not have terribly long to wait before the Solenopsis queens start flying!! I find them a LOT on concrete surfaces like driveways and sidewalks (parking lots, too). Not sure about other species. I am pretty new to keeping ants myself, but not new at all to insect-fascination. The queens I see most are Solenopsis, but that is because I have never really paid much attention to swarming times and other species. Thomson, Ga.
