What type of ant would you be looking for? A fast growing species or a slower growing species?

Im leaning more towards a slower growing colony, but im not opposed to a fast growing one, I live in an area where Pogonomyrmex are very common so im wondering if that is a good starter ant?

i've heard they sting badly (worse than fire ants) and they are semi claustral. Both are not good for starter ant keepers but...

Many still find success, and they eat seeds a lot so that solve problems for people that don't like killing are getting insects.
