Hey
sorry for spamming the forum with questions today today
I have a couple of Lasius niger queens an soon i expect a lot of workers, and i will need to feed them. they are all in testtube set ups. I'm a bit worried about removing the first cotton ball unplugging the tube they are quit fast in my opinion. would it be possible to connect them to the outworld and feed them there instead of in the testtube.

Re: new colleny outworld
Yes. In fact it is preferred to set the tube in the outworld instead of feeding them inside the tube. Feeding in the tube causes stress, and mold. Take a 1 inch section of drinking straw and wedge it between the exit cotton and the side of the tube to create a cozy tunnel. Then place the food in the outwork.

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

I have designed a small out world to connect to my test tubes. I will post a pic as soon as i have printed it and cut the acrylic for the lid
