Lasius Hybrid Nest.
I ordered a Lasius Hybrid Nest and received it a few months back and it came in a dark brown colour and the mesh for the hydration was really poorly stuck on and hung off a little, I wasn't really bothered about the mesh, I just reattached it with more silicon. I was however pretty annoyed with the ...

Re: Is my lasius niger queen stresed out?
It's also my first summer trying ant keeping and I understand that it's very hard not to look at them, I could watch them all day, they're just so interesting but it's always best just to put them in a dark warm place with a medium air flow and just let them be for a month, if you left them for a mo...

Re: Is it too late now?
I'm sorry that you didn't have any luck with your Lasius, which Lasius type was it? I'm pretty sure I have Lasius Neo-Niger.

Re: Is it too late now?
Thank you all for the advice, my two Lasius queens are both currently laying eggs and looking healthy, I really hope they both make it in case I don't find any other queens and also I have two Lasius hybrid nests waiting for them, so hopefully they will be okay.

Re: Please help!
My iPhone camera isn't good enough to see it, but it looks a lot like this image I found on google. (https://gyazo.com/2692f988277c51c6f4bfc94e84b82675) Those two antenna are the things that caught my attention, at first I thought my queen had some sort of deformity, then upon closer inspection I sa...

Please help!
I've noticed recently on one of my queens there is a small creature of some sort residing under the queens neck, it moves around but never comes off, what is it?

Re: To many Queens?
She has adjusted to her temperature in your house inside of a test tube, if you bury her in the test tube, overnight the temperature drop will most likely kill her or make her ill.

Re: Myrmica Rubra in the UK
I'm pretty sure Myrmica Ruba fly within July-August so I'm sure you'll come across one eventually, also would love to know where you search or even where you notice a nuptial flight in the UK, I live in Kent, the so called Garden of England and I can't find any queens! Nor have I seen one nuptial fl...
